Hankook Tire Malaysia supports the Free Milk Project

- Free Milk Project to provide essential nutrients for children from the B40 communities in Segambut
- Hankook Tire Malaysia joined with Korean Society of Malaysia to provide financial support

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 17 November 2023 – Hankook Tire Malaysia, the regional subsidiary of global leading tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire), has joined the Free Milk Project launched by the Office of the Member of Parliament for Segambut and contributed RM 10,000 for the installation of free milk machines for children in the region.

The Free Milk Project was established to provide essential nutrients for children aged six and below within the B40 community, the bottom-tier household monthly income is below RM 4,850. The project is in collaboration with the Korean Society Malaysia, the Korean Embassy in Malaysia, Masjid Al-Hidayad Mosque and Farm Fresh Malaysia.

Through the first phase of the project, 100 children under the mosque’s welfare program will be eligible to receive free milk for a one-year period. Starting in Kampung Sungai Penchala, children may visit any vending machine placed throughout suburban areas of Segambut to receive the free milk. Allegra Technologies Sdn Bhd has been instrumental in sponsoring the vending machines and supplying the technology for this project.

Moreover, with the aim to foster healthy growth and ensure that no child goes hungry, Korean companies including Hankook Tire Malaysia, Posco Malaysia, CJ Century Logistic, SK Malaysia and MyOptic joined forces, and each made valuable financial contributions toward the program.

Managing Director Nam, Oh Hyun from Hankook Tire Malaysia was present at the launch of the event. He expressed Hankook Tire Malaysia’s commitment to social responsibility and emphasized its dedication to making a positive influence in the community. “It is our responsibility to leave a positive impact on the local communities that have supported us through the years,” he stated. “We are happy to be a part of the Free Milk Project and Hankook Tire Malaysia will continue to support and share warmth with local communities and organizations that need a hand.”
