Seoul, Korea, December 2, 2022 – Global leading tire company Hankook Tire was once again awarded the ‘Enterprise with Quality Excellence’ title by the Korean government at the 48th National Quality Management Convention.

Hankook Tire’s Daejeon and Geumsan plants, both located in Korea, were selected as ‘Enterprise with Quality Excellence’ at the 48th National Quality Management Convention, organized by the Korean Standards Association (KSA) and hosted by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). The National Quality Management Convention is an annual event held in Korea that honors individuals and organizations that made remarkable contribution to reviving the economy and industry through outstanding performance with quality management initiatives.

Hankook has taken the lead in achieving customer satisfaction through its dedication to R&D investment and quality innovation. The company has been expanding its electric vehicle (EV) tire portfolio by supplying original equipment tires to EV models of global car makers, such as Porsche, Audi, BMW, and Volkswagen.

At the National Convention on Quality Control Circles held on the same day, employees and quality circle of Hankook Tire’s Daejeon and Geumsan plants also received recognition from the government, totaling three bronze awards (second runner-up) in two categories, including on-site improvement and individual proposal.

Hankook was the first tire company in Korea to be inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ in 2020, with its Daejeon and Geumsan plants receiving the prestigious title for 11 consecutive years. Only those who have won the title more than ten times are eligible for induction into Hall of Fame status after a comprehensive review from the committee.

“It gives us immense pleasure to receive this honor from the Korean Standards Association for our commitment to quality,” says Sooil Lee, President and CEO of Hankook Tire & Technology. “Moving forward, we will continue to pursue technological innovation and satisfy our customers with excellent quality.”
