Model Solution wins two awards at iF Design Award 2021

- A subsidiary of Hankook & Company which provides one-stop solutions won the iF Design Award for the first time
- Its AR headset for industrial use and high-tech e-Scooter won in the Product category and Professional Concept category respectively
- Both have been showcased at the CES 2021 to gain recognition for their technology advancements

Seoul, Korea, April 21, 2021 – Model Solution (CEO: Byungil Woo), a subsidiary of Hankook & Company Co., Ltd., received two ‘Winner’ awards at the renowned iF Design Award 2021 for its Augmented Reality Head Mounted Display (AR HMD) and e-Scooter. They were honored in the Product category and Professional Concept category respectively.

The award-winning AR HMD and e-Scooter were unveiled at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2021 held in January. They gained recognition from all over the world for their cutting-edge designs and innovative technologies.

AR HMD code-named ‘MS-AR20’, the winner of the Product category, is designed specifically for industrial use. It features essential functions to enhance usability and user experience and has passed various evaluation and wear tests. In particular, it received high scores in the Idea criterion which evaluates purpose and relevance of the design concept as well as in the Function criterion which evaluates usability, user benefit and efficiency.

The premium high-tech e-Scooter code-named ‘MS-PM20’ was honored in the Professional Concept category. This future personal mobility features Airless Tire technology, equipped with 11-inch airless tires that not only add unique look but also promote safe driving. Fingerprint recognition system and dashboard camera mounted on the scooter make it the smartest of its kind. It’s also foldable in standing posture and available in various colors.

For Model Solution, it’s the first time to be honored with the iF Design Award. The iF Design Award is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world alongside with the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) and the Red Dot Design Award. It is presented by the International Forum Design, a German marketing consulting firm. The contributions are evaluated across nine categories including Product, Packaging, Communication, Interior Architecture, Professional Concept, Service Design, Architecture, User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) on the basis of five criteria which are idea, form, function, differentiation and social impact. This year, more than 9,500 contributions were submitted from 52 countries.
